Used Pickup Trucks for Sale in Texas

We keep more than 340 used pickup trucks in stock across our three Texas dealerships, and trucks are not a sideline for us. Trucks are roughly nine out of every ten vehicles on our lots. That matters when you are shopping, because it is the difference between choosing from four trucks and choosing from a few hundred. Every truck below is in stock right now at our Dallas, Austin or Houston location, priced with no hidden dealer fees, no pressure and no haggling.

What we actually keep on the lot

Our inventory leans heavily toward Ford and Ram three-quarter and one-ton trucks, with Chevrolet and GMC close behind and a smaller run of Toyota, Nissan and Jeep. Roughly seven in ten of our trucks are diesel (Power Stroke, Cummins and Duramax) because that is what Texas buyers ask for when they are towing regularly. Model years generally run from the mid-2000s through current model year, and prices start under $10,000 and run past $90,000 for late-model, low-mileage Denali, Laramie, Platinum and King Ranch trucks.

If you want something that has already been built out, our custom builds carry lift kits, wheel and tire packages and lighting done in-house. If you would rather start stock and build later, most of our trucks come in unmodified and we can quote the work on the truck you pick.

Half-ton, three-quarter-ton or one-ton?

This is the decision that trips up most buyers, and getting it wrong is expensive in both directions. A quick way to think about it:

• Half-ton (F-150, Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Sierra 1500): daily driving, weekend hauling, payloads and trailers under roughly 9,000 lbs. The most comfortable ride of the three and the cheapest to run.
• Three-quarter-ton (F-250, Ram 2500, Silverado 2500HD, Sierra 2500HD): the sweet spot for most Texas towing. Gooseneck and fifth-wheel capable, still usable as a daily driver. This is our deepest category by a wide margin.
• One-ton (F-350, Ram 3500, Silverado 3500HD, Sierra 3500HD): heavy fifth-wheel, equipment and commercial work, especially in dually form. Buy this if you tow near the limit regularly, not occasionally.

Diesel or gas

Diesel earns its premium if you tow heavy, tow often, or plan to keep the truck past 200,000 miles. You get more torque, better fuel economy under load and engines that are designed to run a long time. What you accept in exchange is a higher purchase price, pricier maintenance and emissions components that need care. If your trailer is occasional and light, a modern gas V8 will cost you less overall and will not punish you for short trips. We stock both, and we would rather talk you into the right one than the more expensive one.
